Hi, and welcome to SongCatcherMusic. Inspired by nature and wilderness, my folk music chronicles my life, liberty and pursuit of happiness in the backcountry of America’s wild deserts, forests, mountains and streams from Alaska to Arizona, California to Colorado.

My CDs, Out There, Anywhere, All The Time and Greenfire Revival, reflect the passion and delight I feel when I'm rambling these wild places. Grizzly bears and bluebirds, rattlesnakes and butterflies, wildflowers and cacti, tender and wild women are regular visitors in the images of my music--Mother Nature’s folk music.

At the risk of sounding silly, I am almost convinced that our Mother "delivers" much of this music to me. Again and again, walking in the wilds, entire verses with melody waft into my consciousness. Thus, SongCatcherMusic.

Since 1972, I have lived in seven states and in or near 20 communities, blink of an eye-sized mostly. I currently live in Ajo, Arizona (two blinks) in the heart of the Sonoran Desert (What joy!). I’ve had over 40 jobs and as many broken hearts, everyone worth the price of silver and gold.

Meshed with my outdoor experiences are jobs in a sawmill and on a cattle ranch (Idaho); social work (Alaska); silver mining (Colorado); and windshield repair (Arizona). And, not to mention, many glorious years as a vagabond and professional ne'er-do-well.

With all of my passions and pitfalls has come a profound appreciation for our wild country and Mother Earth. I believe it's mostly Her music and I choose to give back some of what She has shared with me.

And so, $3 from the $8 sale price (which includes taxes, shipping and handling) of each CD is donated to environmental and conservation organizations throughout the United States. Organizations that, with help from your purchases, can more easily preserve and protect wild places for all of us. After your purchase you may designate one of them or an organization of your own choosing (you will be given an opportunity to provide a mailing address for it after your purchase).
