Out There, Anywhere, All The Time

The Canyon Song - Track 12

owl clover

The morning's gonna be so fine
In the morning the sun's gonna shine
On her face as she raps upon my door

We're goin' to a pretty grove
In a canyon where the flowers grow
The swallows nest
And the waters run so pure

A canyon wren will fill our souls
With a trilling song she alone knows
The chattering leaves of the cottonwood trees
Will catch the breeze then let it go

Nearby a hot spring smokes
Where we're gonna splash and soak
Our world-weary worries away

We'll lean back and count our toes
Grinning like bears in honeycomb
Pleasure beaming from her face

A hummingbird might zing in close
I'm always afraid he'll stick it up my nose
As nightfall falls the voices raise
Of God's dogs chasing the day away

Nighthawks will fill the sky
Aerial antics delight the eye
With dive-bombing booming afar

And out from their daytime niche
The bats will come to flap and flit
Insect targets in their radar

The morning's gonna be so fine
In the morning the sun's gonna shine
On her face as she raps upon my door

We're goin' to a pretty grove
In a canyon where the flowers grow
The swallows nest
And the waters run so pure
